Default Thanks for your patience with me - it is finished.

I finally finished, as much as a house is ever finished, my build on June 19th. Hope you like it as much as I do. Here are some more pictures: Picasa Web Albums - Markit - house shots_b...

They say that "Life is what happens between your plans" and this is a real case in point. My dear Mother-in-law had a husband and her health at the beginning of the project but unfortunately in the last year and a half she has lost both. The Best Wife in the World (BWW) is not able to look after her from Bali so the house/villa/most fun I've ever had with my cloths on/and 2000 sq. mtrs. of paradise is now up for sale at the (negotiable) price of US $390,000 if anybody is interested? Tell your friends, save your pennies, take out a loan, etc. etc.

    Thanks for listening
    Mark

Sorry to hear about your mother in law Markit, but family must come first. Illness to my sister and my mother being so frail is the reason i am unable to move to bali just yet.
Good luck with the sale of your beautiful house, must be sad to sell after all your adventures and hard work. Many memories i am sure.
Hope to see you back in Bali soon.

Hey Goldminer I wanted to thank you for you PM a few weeks ago but didn't get around to it yet - do you know that your PM post is set not to accept replies?

You are right about family but I am such a golden chap (as the Brits say) that I go out of my way even for the wife's family. Mine are all dead and I have been a orphan for about 10 years now - wonderful, I can recommend it to everyone. Just try and get the wife's family into the same car/boat/hospital/bullring too.

    Again thanks for you thoughts

When is the departure Markit? A wonderful house with lots of thought and effort put into it. Any chance that you could lease it to an expat until you are able to return?
Didnt know my personal msg was set like that, and just checking, cant see what you mean. Looks ok to me
Hope you stay in touch with us all on balipod, your imput has been sorely missed of late, even if you are a POMMY hahaha

Sorry should engage brain before typing. Understand now. Good luck with the MIL but why not try and keep the house for later. At that price it could take some selling anyhow.

    Default dont give up yet

What a shame, try leasing it first, dont give up your dream just yet, what about bringing MIL to bali to live, we have friends just doing that, have been waiting for her to join her pals upstairs for a few years now and decided to bring her her as she can be looked after just as well by them here and that way they get to live their dream before they too need to party upstairs.

good luck, your house is gorgeous a just result for all your effort.

Congratulations Markit, your house is really really really beautiful... Thumbs up!
I'm sad to hear about the health problems of your MIL but I agree with the posts above, IMHO, you should try to lease it until you can come back, it's such a pity not to have the possibility to enjoy the house of your dreams, epseciually after having put so much efforts into it....

    Cheers

Thanks for all the kind wishes both personal (PM) and public.

If I do keep the place you are all welcome to come over and have an ice cold Bintang, sit in the pool and watch the coconuts fall with me.

If I don't keep the place I'll come over to yours for the same, OK?
