Sorry don't know of a notary or lawyer in Ahmed but is the property you are thinking of the old aiyuveda hotel on the beach with the conference center? Can't think of the name sorry but it's all done up in the red marble, if that's the one...
Hello,
This is my first post although I have followed the discussions here regularly.
I am seeking the community's help to find an experienced, competent attorney for an Amed property I would like to buy from a seller I haven't met yet. The property is a freehold villa in Amed. I have a trustworthy nominee.
The realtor claims the sellers are a divorcing couple anxious to sell (rolled eyes), whatever, I like the price and location and if the title is legit, I want to do the deal.
Btw, if there are any forum members living in Amed, please I would love to hear from you!
Trimakasi,
Joe

I just seems hard to imagine that there aren't any notaries in Ahmed? Well, I am sure there are plenty in Candidasa that can help. My advice is to visit as many as you can to find one that you will be comfortable working with.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat drinking beer all day.
No notary in Amed that I am aware of and none in Culik either. There are a few in Amplapura however.
We previously used I Nengah Swadi who is on the main road in Amlapura when driving towards Amed. He is opposite the soccer field.
Telephone number I can locate is 036322912, 08164257049 (not sure if these are up to date or not) email is notaris_swadi@yahoo.com - but he is VERY bad at answering emails.
He completed initial paperwork for our purchase and we used Austrindo Lawyers in Kuta on the bypass. Our lawyer said that he is the best notary in Amlapura and they use him for everything they do up there.
Good luck!
You guys rock!
I have heard of Austrindo from a couple of realtors and middlemen now. Solid work? What's the typical fee, as a percent of the prop value?
I will look up Swadi. Turns out the initial villa paperwork was done by I Ketut Sarjana SH, a notaris in Karangasem Recency. Anyone heard of him?
Sorry to innundate you with questions. I hope this discussion helps those who look into Amed in the future.
We used AustrIndo, have not had any problems (that I can spot). They have been very efficient so far. Their fees were pretty high (this is a rather subjective statement), but that is to be expected I guess. Our land was also pretty cheap so their fees seemed high in comparison to the total land price. Effective and efficient at replying to queries, clearly and in timely fashion.
