Why would you want to send a 16month off to school so soon?????
Hi everyone
I am looking for a kindergarten / preschool to send my 16 month young son to. It woyld have to be somewhere close to Kuta / Sanur. I have done some googling and found Cheeky Monkeys and DOREMI. Any input or experience with these? Other suggestions?
Thank you!

Bolli,
I don't think school is the proper word. Kindergarten or preschool. Cheeky Monkeys school starts for children at 1 year old. From 8.30 to 11.30 if I am not wrong. Doremi starts at 18 months.
It is a great place for kids to socialize (since I only have one kid) and learn basic stuff. It also gives my wife a chance to get a few hours per day for herself. I guess you could call it a baby sitter or day care.
Early education programs in many day care centers also help prepare children for school. But Im afraid that local Baliness wud rather look for baby sister than pre-school.Originally Posted by bolli

Martin started at preschool when he was 23 months. They have children as young as 18 months there. He loves it and misses it during the holidays. We were living in an area with not a lot of children at the time he started and school helped him to learn to socialise. Why would you want to send a 16month off to school so soon?????
In Martins first year it was just 2.5 hours 3 days a week. Now he is there 5 days a week for 3 hours a day.

Is it because of the baby you live in Bali although Made is in Lombok?
Regards Jimbo
Yes in a large part Jimbo. I originally came over here short term to get some better medical care for him as he was having lots of health problems in Lombok. We finally found a good pediatrician who got to the bottom of it all in Kasih Ibu. Life in Lombok, with a then baby was pretty hard with daily powercuts, lack of water and so far from shops. In comparison my time in Bali was much easier and we decided to stay longer. We had always said we wanted Martin to go to school in Bali so once I put him in Preschool and was so please with it we decided as long as we can afford to we will keep him in Children's House. They are a primary school too.
Originally we used to go back every few weeks but now it is more that Made comes over to us. He is here now, earlier than our plans because both Martin & I are sick at the moment. We are due to go over to Lombok for on Monday or Tuesday but it will depend on how we are both feeling. We cant use the nebuliser with the generator and are 1.5 hours from the city so I don't want to take any risks. We are also due to be going up to Sepang for a wedding on Sunday but I cant see myself feeling well enough to do that drive
