    Default Kids and Vaccinations

We are considering a year in Bali and are wondering about the vaccinations. We are not routine vaccinators (and would like to save any larger vaccination arguements for another time and place thanks) and our two kids (5 months and 2 years) are as yet unvaccinated. Our delayed vaccination is supported where we live in Holland and I've been happy to continue with this on the premise that we will vaccinate when we have the kids at school or when we travel. So, on coming to Bali, did your kids enter a vaccination program outside of your home program? I'm also interested to hear from any families who have chosen to keep vaccinations to a minium or to use alternative methods of immunisation. If your kids are from Bali, born or raised, what is your vaccination program?

    Many thanks!

I have two children (3 1/2yrs & 6mths) They have both been in Bali since they were born and we don't vaccinate at all we felt the risks associated with vaccination far outweighed the benefited. I researched it in great detail before making a very informed decision about bringing them here unvaccinated. Have a look at this website her DVD's about vaccine's are very informative.

You are saying you havent vaccinated your children, but against what havent you vaccinated? There are so many things that can be done. To be honest, i find this quite amazing. My 3 children have all be vaccinated dating back to the 1980's till now.
I cant see why you would put your children at risk. As i said, amazing.

They have never had a needle in them. They can make that decision when they get older if they choose to vaccinate. I would never put my children at risk like I said I made a very informed decision with a lot of research done. I was not going to conform to these drug company's lies and follow the rat race. I find it amazing that so many parents vaccinate without looking into it more.

I am still amazed here. Informed decision. Drug company lies. Following the rat race. WOW I would say you are very UNinformed. Havent you heard of measles, mumps, rubella, diptherea, tetanus, polio, hepatitus, meningcoccal, pertussis?
For them to make a decision when they get older, may be too late. I dont know which country you come from, but i hope evryone there doesnt think like you.

Indonesia is a 3rd world country. Hygiene probable isn't what it is where you or I come from. Think of the left/right hand thing and all the cross contamination and disease spreading that occurs alone.

I'm not going to get into a heated argument with you over this topic I have my reasons for not vaccinating and you have yours.

Thats fine Kel, up to you. I find it hard to fathom that in this day and age, a parent would not protect their children as best as possible.
