    Default Waterfalls in Bali

I just recently viewed a episode of Anthony Bourdains ' No Reservations' on the television. In that episode he went swimming at a really nice looking waterfall. Since he was in the Ubud area, I was wondering if anyone knows of any waterfalls that are located in that area, or if you have seen the show, which one he was at.
    Thanks, Doug

    aduhhhhhhh!
I forgot to mention one I think is not on the list!!! and in fact you are asking about a waterfall close to Ubud!!!
The one I know close to Ubud is
    Tegenungan Air tejun
is located in Kemenuh, close to Blahbatuh, but I think not many people knows this place!!! even local people doesnīt know about it!!
I remember the first time I visited it (1998), had some equiepment for doing "puenting" (hehehe spanish version sorry) or this kind the sport people fall from the top of something, I donīt know the word in english, I wonder if anybody ever do something there.......

    begonia,

I believe you are correct, as this waterfall in Tegenungan is the closest to Ubud. It's about one kilo south of the main highway going from Blahbatuh to Sakah, right opposite to Kemenuh, which is north of the same highway.

The waterfall was quite spectacular, falling into a large pool. Of course, the water (the Petanu river) was (and still is) highly polluted with all sorts of chemicals picked up along the way. You access the pool through a long stairway going down to a quarry on the shore of this pool.

In the middle 1990s, when bunjy jumping became very popular, a bunjy jump was installed over that pool, which could be accessed from desa Blangsinga. This totally ruined the place. They went bankrupt in couple of years, and now the rusted carcass of this structure remains, totally spoiling the whole panorama (Eh, Governor Pastika, let's do something about that piece of s#$t).

There was also a restaurant, with some rooms for rent (by the hour  ) facing the pool, from which one could take in the beautiful panorama, while enjoying a bintang (expensive). The restaurant was owned by a couple of obnoxious Australian men: they also went bankrupt. :(
    Keep on smiling.

I donīt know if this is the one Dug is looking for but at least it is "close" to Ubud, although could be any one because I think all the waterfalls in Bali are easy to reach from Ubud (of course the most populars are Gigit and the one in Munduk I think).
Tintin, good news, the rusted carcass has gone!!!!!!! I saw it as well in 1998, I donīt know when they removed it but they did.
There is a nice (ok ok maybe tipical lokal warung!!! I love lokal warung!!!) where you can sit and drink a kopi and just see the waterfall in front, a popular place for couples and young people on Sundays.

Thanks for the good news about that piece of junk being gone at Tegenungan waterfall. Last time I was there was in 2007, and it was still there. It's nice to know it is no longer. Thank you Pak Pastika or whoever. :) :) Yes, that little warung is nice. :)

    Thank you,Begonia, Tintin and Thorsten
Yep that's the one I saw on the television. I figured that the pollutants would probably be high at a place so far below the populated areas above.I would probably keep my head above the water if swimming!Regardless it looks to be a beautiful place, and am pleased that the 'tourist infrastructure' so to speak has been vacated.
Once again thanks for your attention to this query. Doug

    You're welcome, dug.

Thanks for the nice picture, Thorsten. Nice to see that the eyesore is gone. Did you take this picture yourself?
