I noticed there were very few fish in the tanks at the restaurant I ate at in Jimbaran on Saturday night. Plenty of lobster though. The cynic in me put it down to being Valentines and an effort to sell a more expensive product.
Fewer boats have been out during the rougher weather. Fish prices went up a bit and the choice at Ikan Bakar warungs was more limited. Last night and tonight many have been out, with their lights on - it is quite decorative.

*sigh*
I logged on today because I'm starting to need a Bali fix and ronb has posted a photo of something very near and dear to my heart - even though it is quite a few months old.
I simply love sitting on the beach at Lovina and watching the fishing boats on the water at night. Such a relaxing and serene view...
I need a holiday and it looks like we're not going to make it back to Bali this year! As soon as work commitments ease off, we'll be there like a shot though!

We've kissed the "rat race" goodbye...but not quite made it to a home in Bali
And there was me thinking you had kissed the rat race goodbye :D :D
Regards Jimbo
Hi Jimbo...yeah, we thought we kissed the rat-race goodbye too!! Well, we've kissed the big city goodbye and taken up casual/part-time work.
In the height of the "financial crisis" casual work was almost non-existent in our little rurual area and then half my superannuation disappeared overnight! We've finally found a bit of casual work and our heads are now bobbing above water again. Problem is, the casual work appeared at the time that we usually do our trek to Bali. So, now we have to wait until the end of summer (in Oz) before making plans to fly over again.
So...we've "sort of" kissed the rat-race goodbye! In the meantime, we're making do with our weekend rides...me on my new 1300 Voyager Trike (photo below) and Steff on his VTX1800 motorbike. That'll have to do until we get back over there.![]()
