    Default Good price - yay or nay?

    I have found a house which I really like which is about a five or ten minute walk from the main street in Sanur, the right side of the main road. It is a furnished two bedroom house with a western bathroom, air con, hot water etc I may be able to get it for 35 juta. It has a nice front garden with a pond and is in a peaceful area. Is this a good price? I think it is but wanted some input. I found the house randomly, not through a agent.
    I would like to know, if I go ahead with this. Do I just pay the guy 35,000,000 in one go? How do I know it is all okay? Will he give me a contract? Do I need to get witnesses in or what? Please help

    Without knowing the specific house, I would say it is a good price. Is the person you are talking to the actual owner of the house?

    As has been suggested on the forum before, it is a good idea to get something made up by a notary so they can check if everything is ok, like the certificate, owner's ID etc. Usually rent is paid up front and in advance for one year.

    If the owner is married also, make sure their partner agrees.

    I know you mentioned you located the property without the help of an agent but if you did enlist the services of an agent, do you know of one either you or someone you know might recommend?

    I would be looking for one ideally in the Seminyak/Legian area of Bali.

    Also, does anyone know how would I be able to verify the autenticity/licence of an agent? Is there a governing body or association an agent should be a member of?
