when you get Julia Roberts saying lines like " I think I'm in love with my pizza" you have an idea of this movie.
I didn't rate the book, too highly, I can't bear the thought of a super clean, homogenised Ubud and a pretty, Italian designer robed
Hooley Dooleya mincing her way around the world in search of some life reborn.
The stills available show a very pretty but slightly unreal Ubud market, with nary a fat sweating tourist in sight. :) :) :)
I won't be wasting my $12.00 on the movie.

That trailer's been blocked for some reason but there is another that is working at the moment:

To embed a video, you just need to paste the URL and then click the video button (between the image and quote button) and it automatically embeds.

I worked out how to embed the video but it doesn't play embedded.

It displays an error in the Flash player window: "An error occurred, please try again later"

      Does it play for you?

Maybe my work firewall is causing the problem. (I can access youtube so it's not blocked)

Yes, I can play the second one. The first one if blocked because of copyright restrictions. I updated my flash recently, so not sure if that might be a problem or not?

I think the movie has no cunning or smart twist in it's plot but the settings (especially the captures in Bali) and the scenes are remarkable people might get interested more of traveling like the character Julia Roberts played. I wonder if the real character played lives in Bali now...

Looks like total crap to me!

The title reminds me of Ang Lee's brilliant movie "Eat, drink, man, woman" ...

Mind you I'm not a big fan of Hollywood.

      Kind regards

Has anyone seen the t-shirt in Nuri's Warung? In the same artwork as the book the title says "Eat, Pay, Leave".

I want to see the movie, but then I've liked many chick flicks and I'm looking forward to the scenery of each country.

I've seen the trailers at least twice. (First time I wasn't sure it downloaded properly.)

If the movie itself has more of the Balinese idiot "spiritual guru" in it telling us not to worry when we've been ripped because the money will come back to us (and more), I don't want to see the full version. Stuffed if I know about the other two thirds (before the Bali segment).

If the Balinese "guru", as portrayed, is so knowing, why doesn't he use his "powers" to fix his teeth? Especially next to Julia Roberts, with her huge mouth and more teeth than all of California.

I know the old Balinese man was hired as an "actor", so it's not his fault to be suddenly "immortalized" as a complete Balinese boofhead. And I guess that Ms Roberts has bills to pay, like the rest of us.

I just hope that Hollywood isn't thinking of an "Eat, Pray, Vomit" version 2.

Maybe Julia, (what was she thinking, if she thinks at all?), might get a part in Avatar 2, swimming in the seas of Pandora. Several options: She drowns or gets raped and killed by "the hostiles". But that wouldn't be a happy ending, would it?

Is James Cameron a secret member of this forum? You never know.
