Default setting up a CV. Company to enable self-employed work

    Hello,

after trying in the visa forum I hope this might be the right place for my inquiery.
I am a photographer and want to set up my own business (CV.) in bali so i can auto sponsor myself and get
a kitas and work permit. First of all, is this procedur possible?
I have a balinese friend whom i trust and who could be the owner of the comany on the papers.
My question is how to calculate the costs of setting up a CV. What needs to be considerd in this case?

Any help, comments and info is highly appreciated.
    thank you

Yes, I believe this is possible.

You can contact a notary who can handle of the paper work to set up your CV. Cost depends on the notary, and it pays to shop around. Anywhere from 2.5 - 6 million, to set up the company.

KITAS is separate. The cost for a working visa is US$1200 a year, plus a few million to an agent.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat drinking beer all day.

I read that only pma provides you with free kitas(up to 5) right? сv and pt does not according to your post?

in some other topic here i read that by setting a сv you can provide yourself with 1 kitas, pt with 2.. i thought that is included in the price of setting a company.

Or FREE kitas has nothing to deal with setting a сv and pt.. then the post i read was incorrect. very sory that i cannot provide you with the link, but hopefuly i will edit my post with a quotation of the post

Nothing is for free Nikita. :)

A CV or PT (and maybe even a PMA nowadays) doesn't supply anyone with a KITAS for free, and always needs a Indonesian citizen to be director, and a foreigner cannot own a CV or PT.

(A PT is similar to a Ltd. or a Dutch B.V, a PMA is a PT, but for foreigners)

Afaik a C.V. can hire a foreigner in the same way as a P.T. and thus a KITAS can be supplied to a foreigner working for a C.V.

Best is to buy one or both of these books:

Dyah Ersita & Partners - Law Firm in Indonesia - Indonesian Lawyers - Experts in Indonesian Law

You can read the 2006 version on google:

@Bert Vierstra... Great link for "Reference of Indonesian Law" book.

Something no one addresses regarding Indonesian work permit, there are certain criteria a foreigner must meet before they can successfully obtain a valid work permit. A foreigner may only occupy a certain position if there are NO Indonesians qualified to do that work.

Many foreigners apply using a different skill set listed on their application, but be warned, if you are caught working in a scenario that does not meet your work permit category you will be deported, or at the very least loose some of your savings paying your way out of the problem.

    @PeteD

    Very true.

And there are regular checks on PT's / C.V's who employ foreigners, even in the quiet North.

    Bert, merci!

so its safer for us (foreigners) to set a pma. i got a message from forum mate "lumumba" saying that setting a pma costs $2900 in Okusi Ass. and you will be working as a director and without nominees. And if to set a сv it costs from 2 to 6 mil IDR without kitas(i read it in the other topic here), it means that pma is twice expensive: $2900-$1300(free kitas)=$1600 in contast to 6 mil IDR.

But i guess pma has some limitations in land renting/owning shpere, business itself in contrast to сv and pt. ? if someone knows please pm me in order not to flood this particular topic.
Also has higher taxes thats for sure. But less risky to loose your business.

Sorry to go aside a little from the topic name.

    Best regards
