Self Employed in Bali
I plan to move to Bali in a year or 2. My plan is to be self employed doing web sites/programming contracts.
What kind of visa will I need for this also will I need to setup a CV in order to do work there?
Also is it just better for me to try to find a job with a consulting firm there that could then sponsor me for a KITAS?

self employed
Hi,
as long i know it is no legal (!!) way to be self employed for a foreigner in ID. You need a company for what u are working or you must open a own compnay (with a Indonesian Partner) to become a legal entrance to all this VISA things what you need .... or you find someone for a wedding :-)
In the end, and this is with my experience the MOST IMPORTANT thing, you need a trustable and honest lawyer or agent here !!!! Without this you can come really in trouble.
I use a lawyer in DPS and he is (for me and what i see) really good - I heard a lot of stories about other ones, and i feel extreme happy with my lawyer ....
Good luck first !!!

Hi whitecow!
Have you had any luck figuring any good ways of beeing self employed in Bali? I have been researching this myself for a while now and we seem to be in the same business category. I am a co-owner of a small company developing web and mobile applications.
cheers!

Whitecow!
I tried to reply on your private message, but I haven't posted enough posts on the forum to get access to the private message functionality =( ... so I can't reply to you. I tried the e-mail function, but I'm not sure I have access to that either. No error message, so I hope it was delivered.
