Affidavit and paspor RI for kids born from mixed couples
Hope some one can offer some advice on where to go or what to do.
My wife is Indonesian,i am Australian,i have Kitas & work in Indonesia.
Our son was born in 2010 & now has Australian citizenship & passport but i am getting many different stories as to what needs to be completed or where it should be done, even when calling the Immigration dept they cant tell us what is the process.
I understand that a child of a mixed marriage will automatically have dual nationality but what needs to be done as i can see potential problems in the future after traveling abroad, the child being refused entry back into Indonesia.
All very confusing & any advice will be helpful.
Cheers.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat drinking beer all day.
Chef, my 2 kids were among the first to have the dual citizenship here in Bali. The both travel on Australian passports, one was born in Oz and the other born here in Bali. The oldest has traveled with me @ 10 times internationally...no problem. You do not need an Indonesian passport ,they put a piece of paper inside the passport saying that they have dual citizenship. When you leave Indonesia, just go to the Immigration office before passport control. They register the details on the computer and the rest is the same as any departing passenger.Very simple
My wife is Indonesian and our little one, born in Aussie, has aussie passport. She also has indo passport. We applied at indo consulate in Perth., took about 3 weeks.
When we travel, she leaves on aussie passport and enters indo on indo passport. When leaving, on indo and enters aussie on aussie passport. Have done this 6 or 7 times, never a problem.
Thanks for all the help,i was told that if the child has 2 passports, they must leave & re-enter on the same 1 ?
The latest info i got was from a helpfull guy at DPS immigration office, told me not to worry, just go to the office with all our papers, fill in the form & our son will receive an affidavit which will be shown along with his Aussie passport, allowing him unlimited exit & re-entry into indonesia.
Sounds simple so i will see next week if it really is so.
In my case my husband is the one who is indonesian, what I am not sure if is diferent from been the mother indonesian.
Niluh has two passports since she was borned because we made her spanish passport at the Spanish embassy in Jakarta.
We have been several times to Spain, when we go out from Indonesia we use her indonesian passport and when we get in Spain we use her spanish passport because if we use her indonesian passport she would need a visa, and the opposite when we go back, to go out of Spain use the spanish passport to get in Indonesia the indonesian passport, simple!!! never had any problem.

I thought it was too good to be true!
The affidavit will be ready in a couple of days......but at a cost of Rp 600,000 !!!
I take it that is for multiple entry. Sounds cheap to me, no VOA , no fiscal, i think you did well.
I agree,a small price to pay for easy entry & exit into Indonesia. I think i was expecting a much smaller fee as mentioned in another post but as long as its legal.
