OK, just to finish this thread off - THIS IS OFFICIAL - I have now looked in every possible place on the island of Bali and there is NO FECKING grass seed here to be had - NONE!
I have also asked everyone on the island and if you don't remember than you were sleeping when I asked you, and you didn't know either.
I am now transplanting Rumbut Mutiara (sp?) from my gardeners plot to mine - and money from my pocket to his - he is happy![]()
Just an idea. What about inquiring at the Bali Handara Kosaido Golf Course, Bedugul, or at one of the three other golf courses in Bali? I seem to remember that grass is usually grown on golf courses.![]()
Keep on smiling.

There was an article in the Bali Advertiser about growning lawn in Bali. He doesn't specifically say where to buy grass seed, but you could try sending the author an email at the end of the article.
I have seen some hotels with some real nice lawns and gardens here and of course golf courses, so I am sure seed must be available somewhere....
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat drinking beer all day.
Thanks fellas for the tips - already wrote to the guy in the Bali advertiser (twice! and did I get a reply? Feck no!)
The idea with the golf course is good and I may try it but, as you may be able to see from the newest pics - I have already embarked on the mission of giving my local garden shop as much money as possible...![]()
Hi Mark
Go to Ebay.com.au and paste this into the search engine )or type in "lawn seeds"
A whole range comes up
lawn seeds, Home, Industrial, lawn turf items at low prices on eBay.com.au
Markit, you have done the right thing, having the grass transplanted to your garden. It is what everyone does here.Mutiara(thicker grass) is for areas with little sunlight, the other Japan(finer grass) is for areas with sunlight.
I had a look in Carrefour for you last week Markit, plenty of fertiliser and flower seeds but no grass seeds. The transplanting sounds like a better method to get quicker coverage anyway.
