    Default Telkom satelite tv

I have heard that Telkom has a television satellite service where one can purchase the dish/system at x price? Then for service you would purchase pulsa(like a phone card) and pay as you use. This would be good for people like myself who a this time spend a couple of months a year in Bali. Has or does anyone use this system? Any comments on the +'s and -'s of this....

TelkomVision is similar to Indovision (with respect to available programmes). If you buy their dish and decoder, you can choose from a variety of monthly packages and top-up as you go. From memory, they start from Rp60,000 (depending on how many and which channels you want).

I've been using their "free" service for about six months, without any hassles. If you have an Unlimited TelkomSpeedy internet account, TelkomVision loans you the equipment free of charge and you get a limited range of channels. (Of course, you can pay to get more.)

The "free" channels include Star Movies, MGM, StarWorld, NatGeo, NatGeo Adventure, AXN, Disney Channel, several sports' channels, most National TV channels and a smattering of radio stations. Note: No news channels!

Because I don't own the equipment, I can't use the monthly pay-as-you-go card system. Sounds silly, I know, but that's how it is.

Have a look at their website. You might be able to get some intelligible information. I think TelkomVision is a joint venture with YesTV.

The only negative aspect I can think of is having to buy their equipment if you want to "pay-as-you-go".

    :D

    Default Telkom satelite TV

    Hi all,
I am new to this forum (and to Bali). Just moved into our new home a week ago. Any update, comments about the telkom satelite tv? We're thinking of indovision, but realized that we won't be watching half of the programs on the package and have to add more. Just looking for a better option. Anybody using cable vision? Or is this not available in Bali? Thanks.

Other providers come and go. Indovision is the big one for subscription TV and is likely to stay. Just a thought.

We have yes tv and also Indovision,at our home Both want the decoder box and parabola back if you don't continue with the subscriptions. We sold a couple of houses with Yes TV in one and Indovision in another. As both owners live abroad my wife being the subscriber was informed last month if they didn't want to continue they wanted to come and take the equipment back...makes sense to me , who would want idle equipment around when the money isn't coming in. Both providers offer good deals. When we had Yes Tv installed last year, they had a promo, pay 6 months get 6 months free
