Josi, there are shops all over the place in Ubud to buy SIM cards, in the grocery stores, along the streets, tucked into alleys, everywhere. I would imagine most of them are open by 9:00.

To answer a question from your other post, yes, there is a fedex in Ubud on the main road. I can't answer your other questions about how to get your suitcases to Lombok.
