Thread: Plaited bamboo (Bedeg - Gedheg) supplier needed

OK for walls but I do not like the idea for ceilings as it is a nesting area for insects and creepy crawlies :(

I think it looks nice on high pitched open ceilings with the wood exposed. On flat ceilings it looks pretty ordinary IMO. And like anything there are different grades of quality.

Lining the open ceiling is exactly what I want it for. It looks fantastic and cost the same as plywood at around 80k IDR for 2 square meters. And what really seals the deal for me is that if you use the bamboo you can go without the plywood.

If you choose rattan, which initially looks great, it has to be backed with plywood which doubles the expense (at least) and in my opinion the rattan doesn't wear very well as over time it tends to sag between the rafters.

Jimbo, the entire topics are a nesting area for creepy crawlies - unless you can live in a plasic and glass enclosure you will always have them with you and I think you just have to get used to it - such is life. I intend to take up gecko farming :lol:

Yeah the foil goes in the middle - not convinced that it really does much but "when in Rome...."
