Hi Pollyanna, yes there is Highwaybali opposite from KUE (you can google it - highway bali ubud)
fast internet and expensive but really fast (they claim to have the fastest in Bali)
I'd like to hear from the BaliPod computer whizzes.
Itunes said there was new software for my iPhone. I clicked on the appropriate button and got a dialog box saying the download would take at least an hour. When I started the download the timer bar said 3 hours. I've done that twice today and each time at the end of the three hours it tells me the download failed. That's six hours trying to download the software without success.
So ... I guess my question is this. Is there somewhere around Ubud I can go where I might buy some faster internet time?
And, if I haven't asked the right question please be patient with me.
Thanks,
Pollyanna

So does your Iphone actually get service there in Ubud? I am looking into moving there. I am a computer guy so once I get there I will be the man for your needs :)
I would be really interested in talking more to you about Ubud and about how your iphone functions there.
Please pm me or add me to skype if you have that my id there is whitepokercow
Thanks
As far as the Iphone go the internet plans here for them are terrible. I was planning on buying one but at the time there was only one company you could go with and the connection was slow. Most people use Blackberry's here
Our iPhones work as well here as they did in Australia although I've never relied heavily on my iPhone for internet connection. But when I need it the internet connection it's there. The important thing is to ensure that the phone is unlocked before leaving your home country.

Oh gee, Whitecow. You keep asking me these technical questions that shine a bright torch on my ignorance. The company is Ind Telkomsel. I just got that from my phone. I'm not on a monthly rate. We just go to our local friendly warung and buy more time when it is low.
I was told, though, by the Apple guys in Denpasar that they definitely would not be able to unlock my phone so I"m glad I found that out before we left Oz.
