    Default Getting settled in Bali

    Hi all,

I am new to this forum and we have just moved into our new home. Bits and pieces are still missing

We need to buy a new stove/cooker - stove (gas), cooker (electric) - any recommendation where to look? We live in Blahbatu area. Thanks and looking forward to more chats and getting to know people.

I am new to this forum too. I am renovating a kitchen and bought my equipment stove, microwave etc etc from Modern Living in Denpasar. Also Carrefour on Sunset Rd is worth a look. Hope this helps

I'm pretty sure the prices are cheaper in Denpasar. Try TOYOBO ELEKTRONIK, I used to buy from them regularly and they always had good prices. They have all needs, fridges, stoves, AC, TV, etc.

    Jl Diponegoro, Denpasar.

It's kind of diagonally opposite RAMAYANA Department Store. Make sure you check the warranty offered. I do remember some items where only store warranty, which is not the best. Always better to have the official brand warranty.

By cooker - you mean oven? I would consider gas for that as well since electric ones can take a heavy load and perhaps be a threat to your cap on power consumption for the house. And I am fairly certain that gas is cheaper to run - depending of course on which particular PLN tariff scheme you are on.

Gas is the only way to go hence the saying "cooking with gas".

    Default cooker/stove/oven

Hi all, thanks so much for your help. Especially the tip about using gas instead of electricity... Yup, wasn't thinking about the costs of electricity here. Still thinking about my bad experience with a gas oven ages ago - it took more than 2 hours to bake a cheese cake. Well, I'm 'confident' that the technology is better now...
I was looking at a modena/domo brand, prices are lower than the other brands (electrolux, ariston etc). Any comments? I will definitely go to Toyobo Electronic next week and someone told me to look at Kartika electronics at Kuta as well. Carrefour has only the cooker/stove - but not a freestanding cooker/stove/oven.
Thanks again - and have a good weekend all.

For your safety guarantee stuff you prefer to buy it from Carrefour in Jl. Imam Bonjol/Jl.Sunset Road or Makro, Price is reasonable too, go check it

Carrefour is expensive, I brought my stuff from Toyobo but later found Macro to be cheaper.
