    Default DVDs for Rent?

    Is there a place to go in Ubud to rent movies on dvd?

    At Rp10.000 for a new DVD, I would be surprised if there is DVD rental - in my 2 1/2 years in Indonesia I have not seen any. I just buy mine and pass those on to friends which I don't think I'll want to watch again.

    O.K. Thanks Widder. I've never priced the dvds but I'll look for some tomorrow. I never considered buying them since I seldom want to watch a movie twice but 10,000 is cheap enough.

    Not to be disrespectful but uhm.... you are living in Indonesia for 2.5 years and you are not aware of dvd prices?

    I think you need to re-read this thread again

    Theres a VCD rental place here in Singaraja, not sure about Ubud or Denpasar

    Well, here I am mumbling to myself but for anyone else who may be interested in buying dvds in Ubud the place to go is Ubud Music on the Main Road.

    Hi Pollyanna, u can rent them from Ubud Music, up the back of the shop. On another topic, what is Starfish Language school like and are u happy with the classes, have been going to the library, but not happy with the lesson quality.

    Scout, thanks for the hint about the rentals at Ubud Music.

    We are happy with Starfish. We are having private lessons, just the two of us, so our teacher is going at our pace. We're both very happy with Putu, our teacher, and with the quality of our lessons. I don't have anything to compare it with so I don't know if I'm giving you good advice. I can only say we're very pleased.

    Thanks for that, will check it out. I dont have an ear for language, unfortunately, so will give Putu a try. I am back in Ubud shortly. Maybe we can get together, put an alias to a face, so to speak lol
