So where is the best place to go if you're bitten by a snake in Bali?
    Heaven?

Seriously, if you're bitten by a poisonous snake, head off to the nearest hospital, keeping in mind that many hospitals may not have any anti-venom in stock. The best bet would probably be Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar.

Most snakes in Bali are harmless. However, there are some very dangerous ones such as pit-vipers and cobras. If you have these moving in, it would be wise to consult people who know snakes and how to deal with them. Reptile Parks should have knowledgeable staff.

Anybody inexperienced where snakes are involved should never try to kill or capture them. Trying to do so only increases the chances of being bitten.

Snake "invasions" are simply a product of competition for available living space. Humans versus reptiles. Snakes do much more good than harm. Of course, nobody wants to wake up in the morning with a hissing spitting cobra staring them in the face.

    True enough!

We actually got a snake in our livingroom recently. A small green/brown thing. It was my first close encounter with a snake. Missus paniced and poured minyak gas on the poor thing. Then I got it out through the front door using a broom, finally the missus whacked the living daylights out of it with a big bad stick. I felt kind of sorry for it, but still, better him than me. Don't know where the cat was. Probably afternoon napping at the time :P

Most snakes that I encounter aren't cobra luckily. Mostly are large python which zoologists says isn't dangerous at all but rather a help for rats and other pests.

I read somewhere that there is a man who will come to your house and catch any snake for you. I don't have his name but I made a not of his hp number - 081338496700. Why not give him a call?

Was just reading this thread intently, and as I did so out of the corner of my eye something scuttled along the floor. I jumped and screamed, ran acroos the room and my heart stopped..... it was a gekko. Think I scared it even more

Now I have a Sapphire and tonic and feeling much better... if a little stupid.

Gets your heart rate up though... had a snake in my bedroom a few months ago... very scarey to wake up to and I can't stop looking for them. One in the living room just last week.
