I want to keep the site going though but I am still thinking of introducing some classified sections on this site. I think the problem with running a separate site is that you don't know who you are really dealing with. At least if you deal with a regular contributor on this forum you will know something about that person. Someone with one post to their name for example isn't going to be too trustworthy.

I would appreciate any thoughts on this approach. The previous owner was pretty strict about people promoting their business on the forum, which I can fully understand, but if they are a regular contributor to the forum I have no problem with it.

hello Spicyajam,the thread this is referring to is rather old,so i am not sure this reaction is of any use.
I had a look at the site,and what struck me there are people from India offering realestate ,and cars in Java are being offered.If it should stay interesting to look at,being a balisite, these "contributions"should be deleted.One more thing:It would be helpful to see the date of posting in the list,so you know how old an ad is before opening it.Would save a lot of time.

The site is being over run with Indian spammers who keep posting the same stupid ads. It's impossible to sort through the genuine ads. I think I need to block the whole of India from the site.

Yeah,there are a lot of whizzkids in India nowadays.It seems they are using automated systems,so maybe it is a good idea to add the "verification by letters"system.I am not sure what the official name is.See the reactions line up of the Jakarta Post for example.
