    Default Ode to Expats

    Dear Bert,

And all the wonderful expats of this forum who I have had the honour of meeting, speaking to them, drinking with them...okay I'll stop here. Frankly I never thought that the people on this site were people (!) Sort of thought them as grumpy old men and women marooned on this island. Far from this, they are alive, well, intelligent and yes grumpy. I am talking about Frogy (johnny come lately), Roy, Sanurian and many others who I have broken bread with and drunk the local juice through the night. They are part of Bali. Infact they are Bali in someways. Let's all smoke the peace pipe, come back to the table that Bert has so kindly laid out, lets agree to disagree and get on with the art of arguing and making wild comments and needling each other. This Life is too short to sign off from friends on the net. Come back everyone who've left. Lets drink in the joy we experience everyday in Bali.

Welcome back, Mark. Nice to see you posting again.

As far as I'm aware, no one's disappeared from the forum except you (oh, and Roy who's on sabbatical).

Were you referring to anyone in particular?

    Hello there Mats,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have met quite a few people who have stopped posting on this site. I could take a census but is this the idea?
We need the old man of ubud to come back to create a little chaos. After all without spice on the site it will become a corner for old ladies and loving hands at home. Please invite him back with his whackiness, grumpiness and above all his outlandish remarks. It takes all kinds to make this site , you will agree with me?????? About the sabbatical methinks it has been enforced. the point has been proven so lets get back to the whackiness...????

Mark, the decision is not mine to make. Suggest you talk to Bert. As far as I know, Roy will be back on 4th March.

Are you in love with the man?? or have you been away for to long to have noticed his bad behaviour previous to his sabbatical. You say it was forced?? ehm wouldn`t really agree with that.. Bert gave him alot of chances wich he gladly pissed away..

But if I havn`t got it wrong your big hero will be back on the third of march when his time on the sideline is over.

    Mark

    Welcome back.

So many come and write prolifically and then so many go. So many ask a question and when they get the answers they go.
It would be interesting to know why? I am sure there are many reasons but one I know for sure is cyber bullying.

Yes. Maria bought it for me for Christmas. She says its to keep me from going senile. After my first drive I thought there was a better chance of killing myself before that happend.

0-60 in 5.5 seconds. My son now takes his mother to the shops in it whilst I am away :-)

Really sorry that you think am love with the guy. Don't take words out of my mouth, obviously you've missed the wood for the trees...or is english your second language? In case you are not aware, Mats is the moderator and what she usually suggests goes...after all that's a moderator's job. But am not going into the grammar or syntax...just suggesting we need all kinds on this forum...
