Default I would like to know opinions about immigrationindonesia.com

    Hi everybody.

Thinking in star a business in Bali I found in the internet www.inmigrationindonesia.com. In th begining the website looks serious and professional, no doubt that is good.
I started emailing with Mrs Jasmine, answering for info to start a business in Bali. She offers me two diferents ways: PT and PMA.

The question is: Is it really reliably start a business using the PT way ?? She told me, that a PT can be a company with foreign money but with an indonesian as director, and she find an "only name director" to avoid problems and have legal indonesian company. She also offers a document signed by all parts (investors and "only name director") in wich he gives all the control of the company to the investors, and another document saying that the investors can fire the director in any time.
It looks a nice plan, but I also have some doubts... Is that really possible ??

a PMA is more expensive and restricted than a PT, we are thinking is start the business in Bali, but then maybe move to other islands of Indonesia, with a PT is easier because you can operate in all the country, a PMA is restristed to the place in wich you say at the begining.

    Any coments ??

    Thanks a lot.

Hi Antonio, First let me say I know very little about PT or PMA or others. I looked at the web-site you give the link to, and while it is not as professional as some, what they are saying could well be good advice.

But what I would say to you is - do nothing before you get here - so it is not all that important if this web-site is giving good advice or not - just wait till you get here. Come on a tourist visa or a sosial budaya visa and talk to people here. Then, maybe you will see them as on the level, and use them.

Trying to get things happening in Bali by just using web-sites that you find, is not a good idea, in my opinion.

This is just my opinion, but since you need to start a CV or a PT with a local person, I believe this is someone who you know well and trust. I think you could have problems later trying to use someone that is simply using their name for the business. In your own country would you become a director of a company that you have no knowledge of the people or what the company will be doing?

I think it would be better to find someone who is interested in the business you are starting and you work together to build the business like any partner would. If the business you are planning is going to require a large capital investment then a PMA could be the way to go.

Is it possible to share what kind of business you are planning on starting?

I am currently dealing with Jasmine and John from Immigration Indonesia, setting up a PT company for our move in December. I met with them in May before handing over any money and was pleasantly surprised by their professionalism. Communication with them can be a little slow as they are both very busy but everything that was promised to be done, has been. The process is not yet complete so I can only give my opinion from the experience so far. You can PM me for any other info.

    Cheers

When I first started to deal with Jasmine I also got the villa sales pitch but we have now moved on. As with everyone in Bali they get kick backs from all areas including the villa sales (everyones gotta put rice on the table). After we met with them the focus has returned back to what we wish to do in Bali and they have also had some great suggestions also.
