    Cool before you have massage

If a person is looking for any sorts of massage, he or she has to follow the necessary conditions for physical well-being. One of the main steps is to consult with the physician, especially child, pregnancy women and ill persons. This aids to stick away from the unwanted side effects of massage practice. Also massage therapist can take a confidential medical history from you and have to sign necessary formalities. Your medical history can review deeply, and then they decide if massage is safe for you and then develop comprehensive treatment plan.

Thanks for that. Will be sure to get a copy of my medical history and take it with me to Kuta beach. Will the massage lady on the beach sign me off?

Well...the topic is not bull-poo at all...
Some may be sensitive for massages, and not all masseuses are therapists or professional. And 99% of the massages are for fun & relaxing, not for medical purposes. Know your body, know yourself.

And the whole question is: are we really supposed to shave the planet...?

And would you then say that one should consult a physician before going jogging, riding bikes, white-water rafting - or even shopping or having sunset drinks? Sounds like good news for physicians, but bad news to Bali tourism.

Sure, if you have health issues... yes. If not, not. Like I said, know your body, know yourself.

True, I have a reoccuring back condition and my doctor warned me against massage when I have it. I ignored him once and was laid up for weeks!

Oh mi god what a load of old rubbish. In Indonesia there are many types of massage from sex to theriputical. The folks that do the latter have known for years what can be acheived and have the experience to do so and can tell you what your problem is by examination. However getting examined before by a doctor is just rubbish unless you know you have a problem that is susceptible to a pidjet. Next we will have to go to a doctor to see if it is safe to have sex?

I am going to be in Bali next month, where would be a good place to go for a theriputical massage, neck shoulders, legs but NOT back in the Kuta Legian area?
    Cheers

Yes, sex set me back a few days too!
The obvious point is if you have a physical problem, think about it, is it liable to be worsened by massage [or sex]? If in doubt consult your doctor.
Generally if you feel OK, you are.
I only had problems trying to find a 'quick fix' against good medical advise.
Most will ask about physical problems before starting treatment.
[ I Know this is true for trained massagers in the west, as my previous partner in England was required to fill in a full medical assesment with her clients before commmencing treatment.]

Actually, thank you for bringing up the health question: next time I have a massage, I'll have to remember to ask the masseuse for her health card first...
    Keep on smiling.
