Do I have to register in the Gallery if I want to post comments ? If not, I can't understand how to do...

About the Picture Gallery:
[brl:3jqzkig8]http://www.bali-expat-pictures.com/[/brl:3jqzkig8]
What can you do?
First of all, you need to register, there is no connection between the user database of this forum and the gallery because it resides on another webhost. Please use the same name username as you use here. Before a user is activated the admin has to approve, same like on this forum.
You can upload pictures, but there is a limit in size, both pixel wise and file size, you will see the restrictions in the upload form. You can name the picture, give a description of the picture (don't be lazy, write !) and you can add, very important, keywords to your picture. Those keywords make a it later easy for other people to search in the gallery for certain subjects. You have the option to supply your own thumbnail of the picture, (also restricted in size, but the gallery can also automaticly create a thumbnail for you, easy) You can create your own personal album with your favorite pictures. Its possible to download pictures, either zipped or 'normal' Your personal album can be zipped and downloaded as a whole.
It is possible to upload other type of multimedia files too. Movies, sounds, and mp3 files (no automatic thumbnails here). Please, as with the pictures, don't upload copyrighted material!
As with this forum, it is possible to delete your own (picture) posts. As with this forum, people are able to comment on your uploaded files. New will be that you can delete peoples comments on your own uploads! But it is also possible to discuss the pictures in the Expat Forum... Registered users are able to rate your uploads as well.
It is possible for website visitors, and you of course, to send the picures as an e-card....
I, as an Administrator of the site, have the option to validate your pictures before they go 'live', but I will for the time being will let the pictures go live without authorisaton by me. Please don't upload pictures that could be considered offensive. Think "Balinese culture". The pictures should be taken in Bali or be very very Bali related. Pictures of Balinese living abroad, fine.
I am still thinking about a category structure, suggestions ar welcome.
First came to mind;
General Bali Pictures, Expatriate Homes in Bali, Expat Marriage Pictures, Events in Bali, Expat Business in Bali, Expatriate Shops in Bali, Diving Pictures, Lombok Pictures, Sumbawa pictures. It would alse be possible to create a Expat Forum Members category with all users as an subcategory.
The domain for the time has a limit of 25 mb (around 300 pics), but as soon this limit is reached I will expand to 100mb (1200 pics) or more.
It would be possible to use the gallery to promote your own website, but this is not allowed for people that only upload for this reason. Active members on the expat forum and / or quality pictures uploaders may get this permission. No Spammers please.
During the first few weeks of running the gallery some quirks may come up, I will try to get a solution for them soon.

Yes you have to register.....
I just tried that link because i want to put up some pics but got directed to an advertising site.
Have to pay again, and forgot :(
Bert,
Ok, I give up. It's probably in from pf my nose, but I don't see it...
In your May 14, 2004, you give the URL
http://www.bali-expat-pictures.com/
which takes me there.
However, I don't see where I must go, after registering on this Forum , to go directly to the Picture Gallery. Help. :(
Keep on smiling.

Uhh, what do you mean?
What I mean, Bert, is where is the topic "Picture Gallery," which, once in the Bali Expat Forum, would allow me to go to DIRECTLY to the Picture Gallery and post a picture, like I can go now to any other topic, like "Bali Travel Forum," or "Owning Property in Bali," etc?
Keep on smiling.

Ooooohhh its at the bottom of the page now.....
BTW I have disabled registering etc, it was a bit of a hassle to maintain....
But we can now post pics on the balipod forum....
Howdies Bert,
Ken ken kabari? I've been away for a while, just perusing the changes/updates to balipod. The photo gallery is a great addition. I'm just wondering if it is reserved soley for ex-pats, or can us Bali enthusiests contribute too?
